Meet Our Team
Neil EdlenPharmacist, Owner
After graduating college at the University of Florida, I moved to Asheville, NC to begin my career as a pharmacist healthcare professional. I have traveled to many places, but I have always found my way back to the state of North Carolina and that is where I began my journey as a small business owner with the purchase of Gates Pharmacy in Mount Airy, NC 9 years ago. It has given me great pleasure to be able to help out our community and provide exemplary services to the city of Mount Airy as well as the rural parts of Surry County. Several years later, we were able to expand with keeping two pharmacies in Rocky Mount, NC independently owned and operating; and are now excited about the opportunity to help individuals in Greensboro, NC.
Helping patients in communities that have been underserved has been one of the great benefits of being a small business owner and having the flexibility to follow passion projects in the work that can truly make a difference in one patient’s life at a time. Being able to assist patients by helping them find affordable medication options, counseling on drug-drug interactions and being able to be truly available and accessible to your patients on any health concerns they have has been one of the most rewarding parts of my healthcare career. I am excited to expand the reach of patients so that we can help make a difference in their health and life and build bonds to strengthen the community in which they live.
Hayley WoodPharmD, MBA, CTTS
Hayley brings more than 20 years of pharmacy experience to her role with My Pharmacy. Her education includes an undergraduate degree in Biology from Peace College, an MBA from UNCG, and a PharmD from Wingate University. She is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) through the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program, has served on several boards of directors in the community including NC HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), serves as a consultant with the University of Virginia School of Medicine (UVA) on smoking cessation related studies, and has various other studies to further her education.
Hayley is married to Barry, from Meadows of Dan, VA and they have a son, Wesley, born in 2019. When she is not at work, Hayley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing almost anything outdoors, and playing with her 3 dogs!
